A young girl runs back to her village to find it destroyed, and her brother taken by a sorceror. To fight back, Lemnear trains herself to become a warrior, the fabled Champion of Silver. One day, she wanders into another village and her beauty catches the eye of the local ruler. She defeats the thugs sent to take her, but falls before the magic of the sorceror whom she wants to kill. Fighting on, she will eventually face the sorceror's master in a final battle.
As single shot adventure stories go, Legend of Lemnear isn't bad. It's not exactly great, but it's not bad. looking back on when it was made (early 90's) the industry was desperately short on quality stories, most of the shows were like Lemnear...OVAs that could have been a series, but just weren't interesting enough. You of course get the feeling that there's a lot more story left untold, and that's exactly how it's gonna stay. Plot is pretty standard fantasy; Girl in skimpy outfit loses brother and must beat up some wizard to save him. Because it's Ureshihara at the helm of the character design, lots of T&A here for all you cheesecake fans. The animation is okay for the time, but even the DVD had me falling asleep. I don't even remember the music, if there even was any, so I'll say it isn't worth noting. Overall, a pretty mediocre package, and only worth your time if you're looking for something to rent, and all the good stuff is out. Not really recommended.
